After the success of the London 2012 Olympic Games and as part of the Olympic Legacy the Government announced that they are to provide £150 million per annum for 2 years, to improve provision of physical activity in primary schools.

Each school received a set amount of money which is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of P.E. and sport in school.

 

How have we spent our funding?

We received £10,250 and have used our funding to employ a full time School Sport Development Officer (SSDO) at the school.

The main responsibilities of the SSDO is planning, delivering and evaluating outdoor P.E. lessons, facilitating teacher’s subject knowledge of sport, encouraging and implementing inter-house and local sport competitions.

 

Other responsibilities include promoting health and fitness, provide gifted and talented pupils a platform to further develop skills through selective sports clubs and competitions.
