PE and Sport Premium Funding

At our school, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to develop a lifelong love of physical activity, sport and healthy living. Through the Primary PE and Sport Premium, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of background or circumstance, can access high-quality physical education, exciting sporting experiences, and opportunities to be active every day.

This year, we received £20,590 in PE and Sport Premium funding. The funding has been carefully invested to create a lasting sporting legacy that reflects our school motto, "Be the Best That You Can Be," and supports our commitment that "Every Minute is a Learning Minute."

Our approach goes beyond developing sporting skills. We aim to nurture healthy, confident and active young people who embody our ROAR values of Responsibility, Optimism, Ambition and Resilience both on and off the sports field.

How We Have Used Our Funding

The funding has enabled us to:

  • Increase participation in a wide range of interschool competitions, providing opportunities for pupils to represent their school in events ranging from football and athletics to Highland Games and other local sporting festivals.
  • Ensure that disadvantaged pupils have equal access to competitive sport and enrichment opportunities.
  • Provide an extensive programme of extra-curricular clubs, offering activities that appeal to a wide variety of interests, including Ballet, Basketball and many other sports and physical activities.
  • Enrich pupils' experiences through inspirational events such as Olympic Athlete Visits and Sports Inspiration Days, encouraging children to set ambitious goals and develop a positive attitude towards physical activity.
  • Fund Bikeability training, helping children develop essential life skills, confidence and road safety awareness.
  • Enhance the range of active lunchtime opportunities, ensuring pupils can engage in purposeful physical activity throughout the school day.
  • Continue to develop our successful OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) provision through investment in natural play equipment, resources and storage, creating stimulating environments that encourage movement, creativity, cooperation and active play.

The Impact on Our Pupils

Our investment in PE, sport and active play helps children to:

  • Develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead healthy and active lives.
  • Experience success and achievement through participation and competition.
  • Build resilience when facing challenges and learn how to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Take responsibility for their own health, wellbeing and personal development.
  • Develop ambition by striving to improve and achieve their personal best.
  • Approach new experiences with optimism, confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Foster a lifelong enjoyment of sport, exercise and physical activity.

By providing a diverse range of opportunities and removing barriers to participation, we are creating a positive sporting legacy that will benefit our pupils throughout their time at school and beyond. Through sport and physical activity, we empower every child to grow, thrive and truly be the best that they can be.
