Purpose of Consultation
We are seeking your views on our proposal to establish a term time only, school-based nursery for 2–4-year-olds at Halfway Houses Primary School to open September 2026. This initiative responds to a growing local need for high-quality early years provision and aligns with our vision of ensuring every child fulfils their potential with confidence.
Project Overview
Location: Two existing classrooms will be converted into a dedicated nursery space.
Features:
- Large and flexible internal learning space
- Large enclosed outdoor area, complemented by our Forest School ethos, promoting exploration and resilience.
- Quiet space and sensory space to support emotional regulation and SEND needs.
- Access to large Forest School Area
- Curriculum: Rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), combining structured play-based learning with outdoor experiences.
- Ethos: Reflecting our school values of Resilience, Optimism, Ambition, and Responsibility (ROAR).
